Why You Should Understand AI
Here’s the key thing to remember: there's an opportunity here for you. Let’s look at the numbers to show why this is so important to your success.
An astounding 77% of the human population is already using AI in some form. This isn’t going away; it’s only going to permeate more and more areas of our life.
There are a number of ways for you to utilize AI and it’s becoming increasingly important to understand how to do so.
Next, we’ll cover a few of the most popular ways we’re seeing people use AI, and remember – we’ll discuss them in more depth in Module 3.
- Generate ideas for content: think of this as a way to generate ideas, titles, or descriptions based on what you have already created, so all of your content feels cohesive and consistent.
- Discover areas to expand upon: sometimes we’ve created something great – maybe a series of emails for a marketing campaign, or have most of a program coded, or a handful of social media captions – but it feels incomplete, and we can’t figure out what’s missing. AI can provide options for what may have been missed.
This also includes things like finding supporting research, optimizing content you might already have, and even creating images using AI.
Remember, you’re acting as a project manager. It is always critical to edit, adjust, condense, and omit – you still have the most important role when you’re utilizing AI. This is true for a couple of reasons: first, AI does not have the capacity to put human emotion back into the work. This means AI can quickly and easily generate the what but not necessarily the why. The why is what reaches your audience on an emotional level and makes that authentic, concrete connection – and it’s key to having your work land in a positive way. Plus, AI isn’t effective at everything – we’ll get more into best use cases later.
The next module will give you a better idea of popular terms and definitions when it comes to AI overall.
